Team Friedow, the triple threat.

We are triple blessed by the Friedow Family on this trip.  Thomas leads his fearless team which includes his daughter Michelle, who is on her second trip, his brother Gerd, who flew in from Germany to join us, Steve Knox & Rochelle Zaranek-Knox, 4 time veterans Ruthie Sunshine Hanna and Kristine Mannino, and newbies E.J. and Steve. Their job for the week is "windows and doors".  This involves a bit more than you may think.

Ms Z. and husband Steve work on windows, doors and floors.

E.J. and Michelle tackle a window sill

Steve checks for tools in the container

Kristine...

Ruthie...

and Steve all tackle window sills.

Michelle takes a moment to hang out with her Dad...

While her Uncle Gerd gives a lesson on the saw to E.J.

As a special treat...

a visit to Rampart to see the now almost completed house.

And a visit with Miss Ora...

who is now in her completed home.

Team Tom, hard workers once again!

One of our most frequent team leaders, Tom Duffield, has another amazing crew working on Delachaise. His crewe includes Sam, Emma, Nicole, George, Merna, Doug and Gary.  He has a great blend of well seasoned veterans and high energy college students.

One of the jobs requiring a lot of work was to dig up a pipe that needed some work.  Thanks to a jackhammer and a lot of muscle from a lot of folks, the task was well in hand.

Once the the concrete was broken up, the "fun work" began.

Merna & Nicole really got into their work.

An HVAC platform was put up at the wrong height and had to be taken down.

So Sam & George took on the task.

Mean while, Gary and Doug Tackled some flooring

Merna, Emma & Nicole did a little bathtub work

Fearless leader Tom scaled great heights to accomplish his task.

Gumby even got into the act...

He even joined Team Tom & Team Pirate at the Joint for lunch

Next, we'll hear from Team Triple Friedow!

Working hard...

OK, so I'm already behind and it's only Tuesday.  We've had a couple of really busy days.  Job assignments were passed out on Monday morning and we are now divided up into 3 work groups.

"Team Pirate" consists of Captains Frank Palazzolo and Dave Dyle and mates Billy Allen, Ken Gidner, Shane Potis, Julie Smith and Lisa Williams.  Kristine Mannino jumped ship after Monday and was replaced by Jake Boyd.

The house on Fourth Street we are working on was abandoned. It has been stripped down to the studs.

We have mixed cement.....

Used it to pour footings to stabilize the foundation

and gone to "great heights" to get it where it needs to be

Inside, the rest of the old framing is being taken down....

Lots of boards are being cut...

A new window is being framed...

and floor joists are being reinforced.

Captain Frank says "We'll be back tamarra wiff news from another Mately, Tom and his band of merry folks! Keep tuning in and we'll keep a workin'. Arrr righty!"
